Powered For Purpose is grounded in connection, driven by purpose, and committed to work that makes a difference where it matters most.
Powered For Purpose is a for-impact social enterprise consultancy that exists to strengthen organisations, elevate people and contribute to meaningful, lasting change in our communities.
We work alongside organisations navigating complexity, supporting them to build strong leadership, clear strategy and responsive, people-centred practice. Our approach is grounded in trauma-informed principles, systems thinking and a deep respect for lived and living experience.
At the heart of Powered For Purpose is a collaborative model. We draw on a diverse network of skilled professionals, each bringing innovative thinking, deep expertise and a shared commitment to purpose-driven work. This allows us to design and deliver tailored solutions that are not only strategic, but practical and grounded in real-world application.
What makes our model different is that we don’t just consult, we partner. We take the time to understand your context, your people and the systems you operate within, working alongside you to create approaches that are sustainable and genuinely impactful.
As a social enterprise, our work extends beyond consultancy. The revenue generated through our partnerships directly supports the delivery of our Next Gen Change Makers programs, investing in young people, particularly those from marginalised communities, to build voice, agency and leadership. This creates a powerful cycle of impact, where strong organisations help enable strong communities, and the next generation is supported to lead change into the future.
About Us
Powered For Purpose is grounded in connection, driven by purpose, and committed to work that makes a difference where it matters most.
Lisa Abbott
Owner/Founder of Powered for Purpose
With over 20 years’ experience across the youth, community and justice sectors, Lisa began her career as a youth worker, developing a strong foundation in working alongside young people experiencing complexity, disadvantage and trauma. This early work shaped her commitment to supporting individuals in recognising their strengths, building agency, and disrupting intergenerational cycles.
Her career has since evolved into leadership, program development, research and strategic planning, while remaining deeply connected to the lived realities of the communities she serves. Lisa brings a rare ability to bridge direct practice with systems-level thinking—translating complexity into clear, practical approaches that strengthen both people and organisations.
Lisa’s approach is grounded in trauma-informed practice, relational leadership and a deep belief in the power of connection. She creates environments where people feel safe to reflect, challenge assumptions and grow—both personally and professionally.
Drawing on her professional experience and personal insight as a parent and carer, Lisa understands the importance of creating spaces free from judgement, where individuals can engage with complexity and rediscover their sense of purpose and direction.
Known for her collaborative and values-led leadership style, Lisa works with organisations to build capability, strengthen culture and deliver meaningful, lasting outcomes. Her work is driven by a belief that sustainable change comes from aligning who we are with how we lead, work and contribute to the world around us.

Bree Hankinson
Associate Consultant
Bree is a social change maker, creative entrepreneur and connector to learning through the arts. With a background in creative arts, Bree spent early adulthood travelling the world and connecting with underprivileged communities. With a passion to work with marginalised communities, Bree used her creative arts skills to engage and connect young people with joy.
As a part owner of a creative arts hub in Prahran, Victoria - The Windsor Workshop - several years ago Bree embarked on a life changing journey to find employment with meaning and purpose. For the last three years, Bree has been working with vulnerable girls and young women to support them to tap into their strengths, develop their agency and position themselves as advocates for themselves in their lives. Using creative arts as a medium for connection, Bree brings energy, humour and light into hard conversations turning them into courageous conversations for transformational learning.
Bree has embarked on a learning journey herself over these years, dealing with imposter syndrome, breaking into a space often reserved for “trained professionals”. However Bree has experienced a profound sense of belonging in this space allowing her to work with flow, purpose and high impact.
Bree is a mother, partner, connector and a catalyst for change. Walking the fine line between total anarchy and strategic advocacy, Bree finds a balance where passion, grit and determination sees a more just society, blends with the joy of art as expression to create impact.
